This November I attended the EuroSTAR Conference. The conference takes place once a year in different cities of Europe, and gathers around thousand people interested in testing. I was involved in running the Test Lab. Further on I will write about the Test Lab, in general and this year’s EuroSTAR Test Lab in particular, and then in the second part I’ll share how I felt at the conference and my takeaways. I will also insert the names and twitter handles of testers connected to the topics of this blog post, because I think that being aware of the ideas shared outside our workplace bubble, plays an important role in our career development.
We couldn’t resist EuroSTAR’s TeamSTAR competition this year either. We – Ale, Ramo, Rares and Sandra – put on our leprechaun hats and cooked up a mischievous plan to convince our boss to let us attend the conference in Dublin. It took minions, high heels, and a curious app to brew our little video. No need to travel to the end of the rainbow to see it, you can have a look at it here.
Leprechauns treasure their pots of gold. These Altom leprechauns, however, dream of pots filled with votes – and we hope we won’t need to make use of our special magic to get them, muhahaaa!
You can cast your vote here: conference.eurostarsoftwaretesting.com. Voting ends this Friday.
We are very excited to have been selected again as finalists in the EuroSTAR’s TeamSTAR competition.
Entering the competition this year involved making a short film illustrating how we work together as a team to reach goals and solve problems. It has been a most rich experience. The film we have put together, Bugstorming. Of Bugs and Stars, is both our problem to solve and our goal, the solution.
You can see how that works and watch the film on the competition’s webpage: http://conference.eurostarsoftwaretesting.com/2013
Hope you enjoy the film and vote for it! 😉
Ale, Adina, Levi and Mihai – our fantastic Testerus Sapiens – will be attending this year’s EuroSTAR conference in Amsterdam as winners of the TeamSTAR competition…
We entered a video competition to win tickets to EuroSTAR 2012! We made a short documentary about the newly discovered testerus sapiens (played by us) as they go about their daily lives. They are presented in their natural habitat, the jungles of software development, where they test software either as a group or alone, living for the thrill of the bug-hunt…
